EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - PART-TIME (24 HOURS): The Duxbury (MA) Housing Authority seeks an experienced housing manager to direct a small PHA with 52 elderly and 7 family units of State housing,12 DMR housing units and 13 Sec. 8 Federal units of housing. A staff of 2 part-time employees is in place. The position requires: Two years' experience in a housing, community development, public administration or a closely related field. Knowledge of the practices of housing management, finances and maintenance systems in public or private housing, required. Written and verbal communication, required. Willingness to work with people of various socio-economic backgrounds. Must be bondable. Certification as a PHM from a HUD approved organization desired, and may be substituted by certification as a property manager by a nationally recognized housing or real estate organization, or by certification as a MPHA of a DHCD approved Mass Public Housing Administrator Certification Program. Two-year full time post secondary education in a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience. Enfield Housing Authority seeks Working Maintenance Foreman
Under the supervision of the Technical Services Manager, the Working Maintenance Foreman plans, schedules, directs, and performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance functions for the Authority's properties. Duties include scheduling work, conducting building system and preventive maintenance inspections, overseeing work in process, tracking work orders, monitoring unit turnaround status, and performing skilled maintenance tasks in such areas as plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and mechanical systems repair. Performance of the duties requires sound knowledge of the procedures and techniques associated with building and grounds maintenance; and the ability to supervise and direct a crew of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled Maintenance employees.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of GED, supplemented by advanced vocational/technical school training in carpentry, electricity, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and/or related, with journeyman level skill in one of the recognized building trades; and
2. Five years progressively responsible experience in building and grounds maintenance, building construction, or related, with at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity;
3. Or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the above.
Special Requirements
1. Possession of a valid State of Connecticut driver's license.
2. Ability to be covered under the Housing Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
3. Ability to be covered under the Housing Authority's fidelity bond.
4. Must be willing and able to provide emergency coverage after hours. This requires the employee to carry a beeper or cell phone while on call.

Executive Director - Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (SINA)
Established in 1978, Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (SINA) of Hartford, Conn., is a partnership between Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford Hospital and Trinity College, that works cooperatively with the community to develop leadership and improve the economic, physical and social characteristics of Hartford’s Frog Hollow, Barry Square and South Green neighborhoods. SINA uses a high-impact, high-visibility approach to development projects through community partnerships and public-private partnerships, and through physically improving the landscape with millions of dollars in streetscape renovations.
As SINA moves into its fourth decade, its goals are focused on five areas of priority: Housing and homeownership opportunities, community life and education, economic and workforce development, health and wellness, community safety. The challenge for the new Executive Director of SINA will be to build on past successes and provide new, creative leadership for the future in a challenging economic environment.
The executive director position offers the opportunity for a leader to put creative ideas, operational expertise, and passion for SINA’s mission to work in ways that will fortify the organization’s reputation for innovative leadership while expanding its impact within its targeted sphere of influence in the city of Hartford, including continued improvement in public safety and neighborhood revitalization. Profile of the Ideal Candidate
The new Executive Director of SINA must be a passionate advocate for affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization, and must have a professional background that demonstrates an ability to work successfully and respectfully with people of different life experiences. The executive director must be effective as the face of an organization as well as an inspiring leader for internal staff.
The ideal candidate will have a distinguished career and track record of accomplishment in the management of nonprofit organizations. He/she will be a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and someone who cultivates, nurtures, and leverages relationships (e.g., developers, funders, community leaders and residents, state and local leaders, policymakers, and other nonprofit organizations), as well as SINA’s reputation and history. Director of Finance and Administration
The Housing Authority of the City of Danbury seeks a Director of Finance and Administration. This position is responsible for the supervision of the accounting staff performing a wide variety of complex professional financial duties in the analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports and programs.
As head of the Housing Authority of the City of Danbury’s (HACD’s) financial operations, the position is responsible for accounting, auditing, budgeting and reporting for HACD’s Federal and State Public Housing Programs as well as supervision of the Payroll and Human Resources Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of modern governmental accounting theory, principles, and practices; internal control procedures and management information systems; office automation and computerized financial applications; public finance and fiscal planning; accounts payable functions; working knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems, GAAFR, GAAP, and GASB; Ability to prepare and analyze complex financial reports; ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures; ability to effectively supervise staff; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior staff, Executive Director, Board of Commissioners; ability to communicate effective orally and in writing. Assistant Executive Director
The Needham Housing Authority (MA) seeks a public or private housing administrator with both federal and/or Commonwealth (MA) State housing experience to assist the Executive Director in the operations of an agency with 76 Federal family/elderly public housing units: 220 units of Mass. Public housing program of family/elderly and oversees 120 Sec. 8 units presently being managed by another PHA along with the management of the administrative/maintenance operations of 235 Mass public housing family/elderly units under a Management Agreement with the Wellesley (MA) Housing Authority. NHA also administers 20 condo homeownership units and monitors the Mass. Chapter 40B projects for the Town of Needham. The position supervises 18 full and part-time staff. A four-year degree in an appropriate field required. An appropriate advanced degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of top level administrative experience in public housing, federal and/or state Section 8 and modernization/capital improvement projects required.
